Written for one to six performers on a single piano, Many Hands is quiet, tender, and searching music. The entire album contains twelve pieces over nearly forty minutes. Each performer uses one hand to perform a single melody independent from the others. This closeness/proximity and interaction of the performers becomes an important part of the piece, as they navigate overlapping or shared notes with each other.
