the energy wars was created as a contribution to fossilfools, a collaboration of like-minded artists, consisting of mixed-media installations and performances designed to heighten awareness of our dependence on nonrenewable energy sources. The piece consists of both a sound and video installation (which uses solar energy as its power source) and an extended series of music compositions. Each piece is a collage of found sounds and field recordings of nonrenewable and sustainable energy resources. The work uses generators, solar panels, turntables and electronics. The first performance took place at the Select Media Festival 4 in Chicago, Illinois. (12-minute loop)
