these pieces were inspired by and are, in varying degrees, responses to the music of ali farke toure. each track, while lacking the technical abilities of toure, still strives after his musical essence: joy, melody, and a deceptively simple communication. they were made while at the marin headlands in california, using toy and junk instruments available at the time.
