Essential Tremors is one of my absolute favorite music podcasts. If you look at the list of people they have interviewed over the years, you'll see many of the living musicians that I most admire. A few years ago, I recorded an episode with Matthew Byars and we talked about three pieces of music that deeply influenced me as a young composer: Stravinsky's "Les Noces," Fred Rzewski's "Coming Together," and the ballad singing of Addie Graham.
